Looking at some of the other units, Canary also looks to have insane stats, with 12 ar, 16 str, range, and already two abilities (can a third be chosen?). How much more useful is Forge Ahead in SM vs normal? I think I used it once and didn't like it in normal. I think I like the extra str from Hakon a bit more though. Krumr is kind of like a mini-Iver, maybe I will give him a try one of these times. I'm unsure on adding a fouth, though I suppose it might spread the pain around a bit and make them need mends less often. Egil generally doesn't need as much mending if his special is use right, but every once in a while he might need it. I've had a couple battles where both Bear and Iver needed mending when Eyvind's turn rolled around. I feel like having Folka, Bear, Iver, and potentially Egil as targets that would need mend might be too much with the fewer number of mend turns to enemy turns due to the battle turn order, without getting good armor/turn items. I might try Bolverk out instead of Scathach as the secondary DPS, but I don't know if a Varl would solve the issues I have with Scathach. Iver even gets tempest on rank 6 to kill/maim multiple units. Iver has more armor, more str, and an insane 9 will to start with. I feel like Bolverk just has low stats for a Varl, but his abilities are definitely powerful. What is his second ability? Is track good because it can cause skipped turns if they run into a stealthed Dytch? Have there been any heroes that have overperformed for anyone else? It could also be because it is less of an advantage to leave a bunch of low str enemies around due the different battle turn structure in survival. It could also be due to the item RNG, as I didn't get a good knockback item for her until late, and it was only obsidian powder. Scathach has been great whenever I'm able to get him in range, giving me another huge damage dealer that is slightly more maneurverable than Iver, doesn't hit quite as hard, but has a useful stun attack if needed.Īlette was amazing for me in the main campaign with overwatch and knockback on str damage of 3 or more, but I didn't seem to have as many opportunities for overwatch to shine for some reason. I feel like Eyvind is essential for times when you need an extra space covered or armor mended, but other than that he isn't a great damage dealer.Įgil has been ok, he can be a good wall when needed but again doesn't contribute much damage. I've been pretty happy with Iver and Eirik (mostly for his bear). I got to the second Eyeless battle using Alette, Iver, Eirik, Egil, Eyvind, and Scathach. What party of heroes has everyone been using for survival mode?
